Reform of a floor of the early twentieth century

The project

Reform

The only demolition was done was that of two closets and a small bedroom adjacent to the kitchen, creating a light and airy space that also was a point of family reunion in the house.

The kitchen was designed to make it a functional, spacious, comfortable and contemporary space. He did not want to put any module suspended storage and, instead, the original brick wall, which was painted with paint Silicate, leaving the irregular texture in contrast to the smooth surface of marble, which was of the bottom rescued the wall and became counter. A fact highlighted by LED strip hidden behind the back of marble, illuminated from below the brick wall.

The choice of materials

On the floor of the areas where it was not the original wooden parquet, microcemento was applied, a continuous coating without joints, the minimum thickness and maximum hardness make it suitable for coating many surfaces, creating a first contrast between classic and contemporary in soils.

In the adjacent to the master bedroom dressing this finish was also applied in the soil, introducing into the bathroom and shower work, promoting continuity between spaces.

In addition, this area could rescue several pieces of original hydraulic tile floor, which were inserted in the microcemento, as a testimony of what was there one day.
